Pre-K (Children Ages 3 to 5)

Children 3 to 5 years of age with suspected developmental delays or disabilities who reside in Cortland County are eligible for Pre-K evaluations and may be eligible for services. Services are only provided after being approved by the related school district's Committee on Pre-School Education (CPSE). The committee will meet to determine eligibility for your child. Referrals for Pre-K services should go through your child's school district, not the county. Services Provided

In order to receive services, a child must be referred to the chair of the Committee on Pre-School Special Education in each school district in order to:

  • Set up an evaluation
  • Determine based on the evaluation whether the child is eligible for services
  • Provide services (Similar to EIP)
  • Provide service coordination if appropriate

  • Daycare Providers
  • Doctors
  • Parents
  • Teachers
