Maternal Child Health (MCH)

The Cortland County Maternal Child Health Program (MCH) is committed to the improvement of the health of all mothers and infants in this community.  Maternal Child Health services are provided to all pregnant, and postpartum women and their newborns.  There is no cost to you or your family.  If you have insurance it will be accessed.  If you are underinsured or have no insurance we will assist you in obtaining insurance by referring you and your family to a Facilitated Enroller.

Pregnant and postpartum women and their newborns are eligible to receive home visits from a professional nurse who can provide the following services:
 

Services Provided


  • Breastfeeding Instruction and Support.  Certified Lactation Counselors on staff
  • Coordination of care with your Medical Provider
  • Coordination with the MOMS Program
  • Teaching, Guidance and Monitoring throughout Pregnancy and Postpartum period
  • Teaching and Guidance Regarding Labor and Delivery
  • Teaching and Guidance Regarding Infant Care
  • Teaching and Guidance Regarding Infant/Child Growth and Development
  • Medical Social Services -Social Worker

Medicaid, private payment, and other insurance will be accessed.   
No one is denied care due to inability to pay.
