1. What are your hours?

Because of the current COVID-19 pandemic, our offices are currently closed. Under normal conditions, we are open from 8:30-4:30, Monday through Friday. 

2. Why do I have to register or sign in when I visit the Center?

Providing us with information regarding your job seeking/employment status and the reason for your visit allows us to determine how to best meet your needs as a job seeker.

Our Federal and State funding is based, in part, on the number of job-seekers we serve. We need to verify that information so we can continue to provide the services our community depends on.

3. I have a question about my unemployment benefits, can you help?

Unemployment Insurance Benefits are administered by the New York State Department of Labor. We do not have access to information about your individual account. Please visit www.labor.ny.gov or call 1-888-209-8124, listen for the option "status of claim."

4. Do I need an appointment to meet with someone about my job search?

We strongly advise that you schedule an appointment to avoid unpredictable wait times that you may experience if you visit without one. To schedule an appointment, please call 607-756-7585.

5. Do you offer financial assistance for training?

Financial assistance is available, based on availability of funds and applicant qualifications determined by a number of factors that can be assessed by a staff member in an interview. Please call 607-756-7585 ext 3231 to arrange an informational meeting.

6. Do you offer financial assistance for work-related expenses, such as uniforms or PPE?

Depending on the status of our budget and your employment status, we may be able to help with such expenses. These determinations are made on a case-by-case basis.

We cannot help with bus tokens or other transportation assistance or with phone minutes.
