CORTLAND COUNTY LEGISLATURE

APRIL 29TH, 2003 SPECIAL SESSION

MINUTES

Chairman Harrington called the meeting to order at 10:20 am and led the salute to the flag. The Clerk called the roll and all members were recorded present, except Mrs. Richards recorded absent. On the motion of Mr. Teeter, seconded by Mr. O'Mara and adopted, all members present voting aye, the minutes from the previous session were approved.

RESOLUTIONS

On the motion of Mr. VanDee and Mr. Dwyer, seconded by Mrs. Brown and adopted on a roll call vote, with all members present voting aye, Agenda No. 01 became RESOLUTION NO. 204-03: APPOINT COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR.

Mr. Scott Schrader thanked the legislators for the unanimous vote and said this would be a learning experience for all. He said he was confident that with patience and perseverance the transition would be successful.

Mrs. Price thanked the Chairman and the members of the Ad Hoc Committee for the hard work and diligence during the selection process. She commented that Mr. Schrader was the unanimous choice of the committee.

Chairman Harrington also thanked the committee for the team effort.

On the motion of Mr. Dwyer, seconded by Mr. Teeter and adopted on a roll call vote, with all members present voting aye, except Mr. Dafoe, Mr. O'Mara and Mr. VanDonsel voting nay, Mr. Allen not present for the vote and Mrs. Richards absent, Agenda No. 02 became RESOLUTION NO. 205-03: EXECUTE DOCUMENTS, PERSONNEL ISSUE RESOLUTION.

Prior to the vote on Agenda No. 02, Mr. Wern made a motion to go into executive session, was seconded by Mr. Steve and adopted, with all members present voting aye. The legislature went into executive session at 10:25 am. On the motion of Mr. Cornell, seconded by Mrs. Brown and adopted, all members present voting aye, the legislature came out of executive session at 11:10 am.

On the motion of Mr. Teeter, seconded by Mr. Cornell and adopted, all members present voting aye, the special legislative session adjourned at 11:12am.
