DRAFT MINUTES

Committee Present: John Steger, Chairman; Steve Dafoe, Vice Chairman; Danny Ross, Paul Allen, Tom Hartnett, Dan Tagliente – Absent: Mike McKee

Also Present: Scott Schrader, County Administrator; Scott Steve, Legislative Chairman; Angie Wyatt, Secretary to Scott Schrader; Brian Parker, Buildings & Grounds Supervisor

The meeting was called to order at 8:45a.m. by Chairman, John Steger.

MOTION TO ACCEPT THE MINUTES FROM THE AUGUST 3, 2004 MEETING BY DANNY ROSS – 2ND BY STEVE DAFOE WITH A CORRECTION THAT THE PARKING LOTS ARE NOT BEING BLACKTOPPED, THEY ARE BEING REPAIRED – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR - PASSED

RESOLUTIONS

     

  1. Create HVAC Technician/Amend Budget (Buildings & Grounds Department) – MOTION BY PAUL ALLEN – 2ND BY DAN TAGLIENTE – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED

Justification: There is a need for more than one HVAC Technician to for the upkeep of our present systems at the County Office Building, Court House, Public Safety Building, Jail and the newly purchased building at 37 Church Street. There also exists a possibility of our present HVAC Technician retiring next year. This newly hired person would be hired now for overlapping and then upon the retirement of the present individual, someone else would be hired to replace the individual.

DISCUSSION/PRESENTATIONS

 

Cleaning Staff – Brian Parker informed the Committee that he will need 2 more people for the cleaning staff now that the 37 Church Street property will be added to the responsibilities of the Buildings & Grounds Department.

Departmental Activities Report – Brian provided the Committee with a Summary of the department’s activity for the month of August. The report is available for review from Angie Wyatt, Secretary to Scott Schrader or Carletta Edwards, Clerk of the Legislature.

MOTION TO ADJOURN BY DAN TAGLIENTE – 2ND BY TOM HARTNETT – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED – MEETING ADJOURNED AT 9:15A.M.
