Others Present: Scott Steve, Legislative Chairman; Scott Schrader, County Administrator; Angie Wyatt, Secretary to Scott Schrader; Brian Parker, B & G Supervisor; Brian Liberatore, Cortland Standard

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, John Steger at 8:36a.m.

MOTION BY DAN TAGLIENTE – 2ND BY DANNY ROSS TO APPROVE THE MINUTES FROM THE AUGUST 31, 2004 MEETING – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED

 

RESOLUTIONS

     

  1. Rectify Position Classification, Building Maintenance Worker/Building Maintenance Mechanic (Buildings & Grounds Department) MOTION BY MIKE MCKEE – 2ND BY DAN TAGLIENTE – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED

Justification: To uphold the original classification of the Buildings and Grounds Mechanic position due to the Personnel Office and MSD Reclassification Study.

 

MOTION BY DANNY ROSS – 2ND BY DAN TAGLIENTE TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS A PERSONNEL MATTER – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED – INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 8:40A.M. - OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 8:45A.M.

 

DISCUSSION/PRESENTATIONS/REPORTS

 

Departmental Activities Report: Brian Parker provided the committee with a department activity report for the month of September (available for review from Angie Wyatt or Carletta Edwards in County Administrative Office)

Courthouse Pillars Repair: There was an insurance issue with Vickie Romanoff which has been resolved and the work is beginning.

Parking at County Office Building, Courthouse & 37 Church Street: "No Overnight Parking" signs need to be installed at 37 Church Street. Scott Schrader will have the Highway Department install the signs. Parking continues to be a problem at the County Office Building and the Courthouse. The Judiciary & Public Safety Committee will be contacted to address this issue so the Sheriff’s Department can start giving out parking tickets. Brian Parker asked if warnings could be issued. Scott Schrader said that they could be.

Smoking: There have been complaints about people smoking at the entrances to County Buildings. No action taken.
