Chairman Allen called the meeting to order at 4:48 p.m.
Discussion Items:
1. Purchase Highway Department Salt-Sander Body – Mr. Allen explained that the City made an arrangement with the County years ago for a patcher. They have not had the funds available (about $10,000) but we have about $9,000 in our salt shed that the City has paid for and the City has asked that we take the salt as payment, which creates a surplus fund in the salt fund and we need to purchase a salt-sander. Mr. Chambers explained that some of our sanders are very old and some of the parts are obsolete and we cannot purchase parts to fix the equipment. This would help make our fleet a little more dependable. The low quote was $9,999.00; this is not a State bid. Mr. Cornell approved the purchase of the equipment; seconded by Mr. Steger. All members voting in favor; none opposed; equipment purchase approved.
