Scott Schrader provided a map and a visual simulation for a proposed Health Facility on South Main Street in the City of Cortland.  The County would acquire the Moose Lodge Building, the Charles/Mike Wood owned building which presently houses the Cortland Housing Assistance Counsel business offices and some other adjoining properties.

This proposed building would house all divisions of the Cortland County Health Department and the Cortland County Mental Health Department, including the Horizon House.  It would be a 30 thousand square foot building with 150 parking spaces.

The total property acquisition price would be approximately $630,000.00.  The total project would cost between 5 and 5 ½ million dollars.  The County would bond for these funds.  Funds will also be available through State Aid, Community Development Grants, etc.

Presently, the County is paying over $100,000 a year to lease the property on Clayton Avenue that houses the Cortland County Mental Health Department – that amount would no longer be paid out.
