Ms. Tytler called the meeting to order at 7:38 AM
Minutes of the June 19, 2007 meeting were unanimously approved.
Ms. Tytler distributed Motor Vehicle Use Fee report and County Clerk’s Instrument/Transaction Comparison Sheet derived from the County Clerk’s 2006 Annual Report. She said she researched documents regarding Local Law #3 and found nothing noted that the fees generated were targeted for building a new DMV. Also distributed were the Sales Tax Transaction distribution form and an email indicating that once the committee narrows the selection of properties that the state will send a district director to review the space with the committee. She said she has additional information submitted by Ms. Larkin that will be saved to later as it has more to do with interior design. Mr. Cornell asked Ms. Larkin how the numbers compared with the last report given in reference to the sales tax distribution from Broome County. She answered that was 253 compared to 157 on the present report.
On motion of Mr. Cornell, second by Mr. McKee and all members voting aye to go into executive session to discuss property acquisitions. Executive session commenced at 7:48 AM
Meeting reconvened at 8:37AM.
Ms. Tytler said the goal of the committee is to narrow the choices to not more than 5, ideally to 3 properties. She requested Ms. Larkin compile information regarding the transactions and volume appropriate to a drive through. She also asked if there are others in the state that has drive though windows. Ms. Larkin answered Saratoga County was one she knew of and will inquire regarding others in the state. Ms. Larkin told the committee the drive through would be used for renewals of licenses and registrations and plate drop offs.
Ms. Tytler asked Mr. Schrader about the Motor Vehicle renovation that he was involved with in Jefferson County. A road trip was suggested to look at the workspace lay out and design of that office.
Next meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 13, 2007 at 7:30 AM
