RESOLUTIONS
Justification: Carl Bullock informed the Committee that this grant would be used for more training for counseling services for veterans and their families and family members of deceased veterans. Additional training is critical due to the conflicts in the Middle Eastern countries. The additional training is also needed due to a lot of changes from the Veterans Administration.
2. Award Contract – Copier Management Program – All County Departments – ON MOTION OF DAVE WERN – 2ND BY TAMARA WYANT – ALL VOTED IN FAVOR - PASSED
Justification: Proposals were received for a Comprehensive Copier Management Program for Cortland County. Scott Schrader provided the Committee with detailed information with the different proposal amounts. With 6 proposals received, 2 of the proposals were substantially the lowest compared to the other 4 bids with a $500.00 difference between the 2. Some of the copiers in the County will be eliminated.
The bids submitted also included a finishing copier for more extensive and large jobs. This copier would be located in the Data Processing Department (Central Services) for all County departments to utilize as needed. The bid amount for this was listed separately.
All copiers in the County would be Network capable and would include the fax feature eliminating the need for separate fax machines.
All billing would still be done on a departmental basis.
The best bid was from Business Methods of East Syracuse not just for the pricing but also for training and service.
DISCUSSION
Veterans’ Transportation: Scott Steve asked Carl Bullock if transportation is available to Veterans for medical visits at the VA Hospital. Carl indicated that the Disabled Veterans Organization on Owego Street has two vans available at no cost for this purpose and volunteers are used to drive people to Syracuse for appointments, etc.
