Discussion:

Committee approval to purchase police vehicles. A list of vehicles was distributed to the committee. These vehicles will be purchased under the bond. The purchase merely needs committee approval to proof the additional vehicles. Chairman Steve asked if there is a fleet replacement plan. Sheriff Price indicated that there has been a replacement plan for vehicles every three years; however, when times got tough, replacement of the cars was put on the back burner. Chairman Steve asked if the intent wasn’t to replace the patrol cars first. Sheriff Price indicated that that is the intent; we have replacement some of the patrol cars. Mr. Schrader indicated that he does have a long-term replacement plan and will share it with the committee. Mr. Schrader indicated that the useful life of the vehicles is only three years. We are going to be paying for this bond in the long-term and the cars aren’t going to even be in the fleet any more. All members in favor of approving the purchase; none opposed; approval granted to purchase vehicles.

The meeting adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
