Highway/Solid Waste/Airport Committee

Mr. Allen called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m.
Mr. Elston moved adoption of the minutes of the October 11, 2005 meeting; seconded by Mr.
Cornell. All members voting in favor, minutes approved as corrected.
RESOLUTIONS:
1.
Lime Hollow Clean Up, Highway Department
(Landfill) – The clean up is done annually.
Mr. Cornell moved adoption; second by Mr. Elston.
All members voting in favor; none opposed; resolution adopted.
2.
Authorize Assignment of Lease Agreement,
Cortland County Airport, Hangar MH-3
– The Lease Assignment is to DR Jones
and will run through December 1, 2006.
Mr. Cornell moved adoption; second by Mr. Tagliente.
All members voting in favor; none
opposed; resolution adopted.
DISCUSSIONS/PRESENTATIONS:
1. New “Welcome to Cortland County” Signs – Mr. Chambers presented the committee with the design of a new sign. The new sign will be green with white letter saying Welcome to Cortland County. The middle of the sign will have the Cortland County emblem in white and black. The cost of each sign will be approximately $150 per sign. Mr. Chambers would like to put the new signs on roads that have over 1000 cars per day. He would like to start with 15 to 20 signs. Mr. Chambers will provide the committee with an actual sign.
Mr. Allen acknowledged Mr. Eric Duman and allowed him to speak before the committee. Mr. Duman voiced a complaint related to the landfill and employees there. Mr. Chambers addressed Mr. Duman’s concerns and stated that he would look further into the issue.
Mr. Allen made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Mr. Cornell. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 a.m.
