DRAFT MINUTES

Members: Marilyn Brown, Chairperson; Newell Wilcox, Vice Chairman; Kurt Behrenfeld, Paul DiGiovanni, Dan Tagliente, Ron VanDee, Tom Williams

Others Present: Scott Schrader, Scott Steve, Angie Wyatt, Carol Deloff, Manny Lann, Nancy Mazzone, Mary Ellen Neville

Absent:

Mrs. Brown called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m.

A motion was made for adoption of the minutes of the August 31, 2005 meeting and seconded.

All members voting in favor, minutes approved as corrected.

 

RESOLUTIONS:

Area Agency on Aging

     

  1. Amend Budget, Area Agency on Aging (Title VII long Term Care Ombusdman Program) – It was stated that they have seven volunteers to help resolve the issues. Mr. Willcox moved adoption; second by Mr. VanDee. All members voting in favor; none opposed; resolution adopted.

    2. Social Services

     

  2. Amend Budget, Department of Social Services (Transfer) – The statement was made the reason for this transfer is due to vacancies. Mr. VanDee moved adoption; second by Mr. Wilcox. All members voting in favor; none opposed; resolution adopted.

  3. Amend Budget, Department of Social Services (Daycare) – The statement was made that more funds, all from the State, have become available. Mr. Wilcox moved adoption; second by Mr. Tagliente. All members voting in favor; none opposed; resolution adopted.

Authorize Agreement, Amendment, Department of Social Services (Shredding Services) – Same rates at other departments, Department of Social Services will be using the same service for other departments so that all departments will be using the same one. Mr. Tagliente moved adoption; second by Mr. Wilcox. All members voting in favor; none opposed; resolution adopted.

DISCUSSIONS/PRESENTATIONS:

     

  1. Area Agency on Aging – Budget Review, Carol Deloff - Mr. Schrader spoke about budget concerns. The budget will be provided on October 19th or 20th. He explained how it was done in the past. Mr. Schrader has met with most departments concerning their individual department budgets. The Budget and Finance Committee Work Sessions for review of the 2006 Tentative County Budget with the Budget Officer is scheduled for October 21, 2005 through November 11, 2005. A Public Hearing is scheduled for November 17, 2005 on the 2006 Tentative County Budget. Adoption of the 2006 Tentative County Budget is schedule for November 17, 2005 by the County Legislature.

  2. Youth Bureau – Budget Review, Manny Lann - Mrs. Brown stated that the Committee should review all budgets that fall under that committee. Mr. Williams would like the budgets done in a standardized format like a spreadsheet.
