RESOLUTIONS
None
DISCUSSION/PRESENTATIONS:
Departmental Report
– Brian distributed a written report for the Committee’s
review.
Courthouse Building Projects – Scott Schrader explained that
the Courthouse Renovation Projects resolutions were tabled because of the
uncertainty of the State reimbursement. The
project will cost approximately $627,000.00 with a 57 to 58% reimbursement
from the state being approximately $360,000.00.
The cost to the County would be $267,000.00 of which the County would
bond for. The original
architects, Bell & Spina estimated the cost of the Courthouse ramp to be
around $50,000.00 when in actuality it will cost close to $300,000.00.
Marilyn Brown asked what the life expectancy of the ramp is.
Brian Parker indicated that it has a 20-year life expectancy.
The ramp will not be heated; is not less expensive by using pre-cast;
and the price does not include putting the pipe in.
BY A CONSENSUS OF THE BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS COMMITTEE, IT WAS
DECIDED THAT THE RESOLUTIONS REGARDING THE COURTHOUSE RENOVATION PROJECTS GO
BACK TO THE FULL LEGISLATURE FOR APPROVAL.
MOTION TO GO INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION TO DISCUSS
PROPERTY ACQUISITION MADE BY JOHN DANIELS – 2ND BY TOM HARTNETT
– ALL VOTED IN FAVOR – INTO EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 8:40A.M.
OUT OF EXECUTIVE SESSION AT 9:05A.M
Crow Problem – Brian Parker and Tim Smith have been trying to come up with solutions for the Courthouse crow problem. Brian indicated that he would like to purchase equipment to be installed on the Courthouse roof to disperse the nightly crow roosting problem. Brian suggested that we purchase 4 units and install them on the four wings of the Courthouse roof. By Committee consensus, it was agreed that Brian purchase and install the 4 units on the Courthouse roof.
