The meeting was called to order at 8:30a.m. by Chairman, Steve Dafoe
MOTION BY DAN TAGLIENTE – 2ND BY JOHN DANIELS TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE NOVEMBER 14, 2007 AND DECEMBER 12, 2007 MEETINGS – ALL PRESENT VOTED IN FAVOR – PASSED
Discussion: Kay Breed asked if county employees are unhappy with the Munis Accounting System. Brian Parker indicated that when there is a high influx of use the system is slow but otherwise it is fine.
Discussion: Committee members asked if we are looking for a full time replacement. Marilyn Brown that it depends on if the County will maybe be able to make this just a part-time position.

Departmental Report: Buildings & Grounds
Update on Court House Projects:
They are moving the Probation Department this week. The demolition for the Courthouse renovations will begin next week. Kay Breed asked for a cost breakdown of the Courthouse project. John Steger indicated that it had already been provided but Brian will provide this information again to all the Legislators. Kay Breed asked about the Court reimbursement. The reimbursement is set by Judicial Law. Brian Parker explained the formula for the Court System reimbursement. The outside work is 25% reimbursable. The inside work is 57 or 58% reimbursable however, portions of the inside work is 100% reimbursable. Scott Schrader explained that this project is a 7-phase project and we are only completing phase 1 and 2 at this time.
Brian Parker has received the final numbers for the equipment used to eliminate the crow population at the Courthouse. The better unit will cost between $3,200 and $3,300. Eric Mulvihill commented that in some places the crows are getting accustomed to the noise.
