The Cortland County Treasurer’s Office

• The Treasurer serves as the chief tax enforcement officer for the County. The Treasurer’s Office functions as the collection agency for the towns, villages and school districts  in the County when taxes become delinquent

• The Treasurer acts as a Public Administrator of estates upon appointment of the courts

• Issues Certificates of Residence to students attending community colleges
