FAMILY SUPPORT
SERVICES PROGRAM
Family Support Services is:
- A program funded by the State Office of Mental Health, and offered by the
Cortland County Mental Health Clinic, that serves the families of children
and adolescents with serious emotional difficulties.
- Designed to provide supportive services that empower families and enhance
their ability to care for their special-needs children in the home.
- A program that strongly encourages parental involvement and participation
in all aspects of its program, including the development, monitoring and
evaluation of services.
Family Support Services Offers:
A Flexible range of services that help to reduce stress, increase the
family's level of functioning, and facilitates more effective parenting.
Family Support Services Offers The Following Services To Families:
- Respite Care Services: Planned Drop-In, In-Home, One-on-One
- TEAM Parents Program: Intensive In-Home Parenting Services
- Parent Information Exchange: Support group that meets
each Wednesday evening (5:15- 6:45 pm)
- Parenting Classes: Offered every other Thursday morning (9:30 -
11:00 am)
Additional Services Include:
- Information and Referral Services
- Individual / Family Advocacy
- Supportive Counseling and Informal Case Management
- Family Recreational Events
- Crisis Intervention
