The mission of Horizon House is to offer individuals whose functioning has been impeded by a sever/enduring mental illness, the opportunity to obtain and maintain the clinical stability, community-based support and life skills necessary to live in the community and pursue their personal life goals.

What Is Continuing Day Treatment?

Continuing Day Treatment is a group-focused clinical program that offers a variety of interventions and educational experiences in order that people whose lives have been impacted by a severe/enduring mental illness can enhance their life skills, clinical stability and functioning.

Who Does This Program Provide Service To?

This type of service/programming is oriented towards individuals whose lives have been substantially impaired by their mental illness and are in need of a higher level of structure and support than that which can be provided in a clinic setting.

How Is This Type of Program Different From Others?

Services offered by this program are based on a group format versus individual contacts.  This process allows individuals to profit not only from the structure, groups, programs, skill building activities, counseling and stimulation offered by staff, but also to learn from the experience (s) and expertise of his/her peers.  Each person enrolled receives individualized evaluation, treatment planning, psychiatric services and is assigned a primary therapist.

What Type Of Programs And Services Are Provided?

It should be noted that all of these services are part of the day program and cannot be purchased as unique entities/intervention.
