DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE
CLASS: The work involves the
responsibility for assisting the After‑School Program Director in
performing assigned routine tasks that require the supervision and care of
students. The work is performed under
the direct supervision of the After‑School Program Director.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative only)
Assists the After‑School
Program Director in supervising recreation periods;
Maintains order in areas used
by the After‑School Program;
Performs set‑up and clean‑up
of activities;
May render elementary first aid
treatment;
Carries out other duties as
assigned by the After‑School Program Director.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES,
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
Good knowledge of policies
regarding stressful discipline situations.
Ability to get along well with students and command their respect;
tact; patience; firmness; some knowledge of first aid methods; good
judgment. Physical condition
commensurate with the demands of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
None is required. However, a demonstrated effectiveness with
children is desirable.
