COURT ATTENDANT

 

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining order in a court and carrying out orders of the court.  Work is performed under the general direction of the presiding city Judge and/or Chief of Police.  Does related work as required.

 

 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:    

Maintains order in court;

Readies the courtroom for proceedings;

Attends to the needs of jurors;

Complies with the directives of the presiding Judge.

CHARACTERISTICS:

Ability to maintain order in the courtroom;

Ability to carry out oral instructions;

Ability to acquire familiarity with court proceedings;
