SEASONAL AIDE

 

 

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Performs routine manual work.  The duties performed are primarily of a manual and unskilled nature requiring physical endurance and a willingness to perform heavy work.  Constant supervision is maintained over the work.  Does related work as required.

 

Typical work activities:  (Illustrative only)

Flagging;

Assists in patching streets and roads;

Rakes, tamps and shovels asphalt;

Loads and unloads trucks;

Excavates and backfills for construction and repairs;

Cleans streets, park areas, culverts and basins;

Cuts grass, brush and trees;

Assists in the installation and maintenance of traffic signs and markings.

 

FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:  Ability to follow instructions; ability to lift heavy weights; physical endurance; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
