TITLE:                       SIGN TECHNICIAN

                       

LOCATION:              COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

 

SALARY:                   $14.0206-17.0582/HR 2009 RATE – 40/HRS/WK

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

(a)               Graduation from a high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two (2) years of work experience or its part-time equivalent in construction or road work.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New York State Class B Driver's License with air brake, tank and hazmat* endorsement is required.  Failure to maintain a NYS Class B Commercial Driver's License and all the required endorsements including driving priviledges throughout employment will result in disciplinary action or dismissal.

 

*Hazmat endorsement must be obtained within One (1) year of appointment.  Failure to obtain and/or maintain hazmat endorsement will result in dismissal.

 

NOTE:  The agreement by and between the County of Cortland and CSEA, Local 1000 AFSCME, AFL-CIO, CSEA Cortland County Local 812, Article 32, Section 1, states each competitive job vacancy which no mandated eligible list exists will be posted for a period not less than five (5) working days, however, you must have signed up to take the Sign Technician exam to be considered for this position.  If you have signed up to take the Sign Technician exam, you do not need to submit another application. 

 

December 2006, June 2007, July 2007 and December 2008 preferred list individuals will be considered for entry level positions for which they meet minimum qualifications.
