Cortland County Veterans who served in the Republic of Vietnam beginning January 9, 1962, and ending on May 7, 1975 and have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease, diabetes, prostate cancer, lung cancer, or any respiratory cancers should contact the Cortland County Veterans Office immediately for the purpose of filing a claim for service-connected disability compensation with the Veterans Administration.
Surviving spouses of veterans that died from any of these conditions or complications resulting from any of these conditions may also be entitled to VA benefits.
The Disabled American Veterans Van Services have changed their scheduling procedures. Those requiring transportation to Tompkins/Cortland County VA Outpatient Clinic should contact the DAV Cortland office at 607-591-7388. Those that require transportation to the VA Hospital in Syracuse should call 607-591-7425 at least 72 hours prior to the appointment
