Notaries

A Notary Public performs various functions including, but limited to, administering oaths and affirmations, taking affidavits and statutory declarations, witnessing and authenticating the execution of certain classes of documents, taking acknowledgments of deeds and other conveyances and performing certain other offices acts.

**Fall 2023 - Change to Notary Renewals**

Historically, Notary Renewals were processed by the County Clerk's office where the individual was commissioned.  In the Fall of 2023 this changed.  Renewals are now processed online through the New York State Department of State website.  A summary of the renewal process is available by clicking here.
