COVID-19 Case Data

New Cases: residents of Cortland County who tested positive for COVID-19 since the last update. This number includes positive home tests results reported to CCHD and positive test results reported by the Electronic Clinical Laboratory Reporting System (ECLRS). 1
Total Positive Cases to Date: the sum of new cases in Cortland County since March 2020.1
Active Cases: includes individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 that are currently under public health order for mandatory isolation at home in Cortland County and individuals who are Cortland County residents that have been identified as currently hospitalized.2

Death and Hospitalization Data

Total Deaths: The sum of new deaths among Cortland County residents with a laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infection since March 2020.1
Total Hospitalizations: the sum of new hospitalizations reported since March 2020.1
Current Hospitalizations: Active cases of Cortland County residents that are currently hospitalized in Cortland County or other hospitals. 2

Vaccination Data

Total Number of Population with at Least One Dose: represents the total number of Cortland County residents that have received at least one dose of any COVID-19 vaccine.3
Total Number of Population Fully Vaccinated: represents the total number of Cortland County residents that who have completed the recommended series of a given COVID-19 vaccine product (i.e. 2 does of the 2-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; 1 dose of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine). 3
Percentage of Total Population Fully Vaccinated: represents the percentage of Cortland County residents of all ages who have completed the recommended series of a given COVID-19 vaccine product (i.e. 2 does of the 2-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; 1 dose of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine). 3
Percentage of Total Population Fully Vaccinated with a Booster: The percentage of Cortland County residents who received a booster dose includes anyone who is fully vaccinated and has received another dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since August 31st, 2021. This includes people who have received booster doses and people who have received additional doses.3
Percentage of Total Population 12 years or Older Fully Vaccinated: represents the percentage of Cortland County residents ages 12 and older who have completed the recommended series of a given COVID-19 vaccine product (i.e. 2 does of the 2-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; 1 dose of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine). 3
Percentage of Total Population 5-11 Years Old Fully Vaccinated: represents the percentage of Cortland County residents ages 5-11 years old who have completed the recommended series of a given COVID-19 vaccine product (i.e. 2 does of the 2-dose Pfizer or Moderna vaccine; 1 dose of the single dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine). This data does not include vaccines administered through Federal entities or performed outside of New York State to New York State residents.
Active Cases that are Vaccinated: The number of active cases in Cortland County that self-report they are vaccinated during their case investigation with the Cortland County Health Department. Vaccination status is based on self-report and is not verified by the CCHD. Individuals who do not self-report they are vaccinated may be unvaccinated, chose to not provide vaccination status, or vaccination status was not collected during case investigation.2


Testing Data

Percentage Tested Positive: The percentage of COVID-19 test results that were positive the prior day for Cortland County.5

Governor Hochul Announces 13 New State Testing Sites Across New York Amid Recent Surge in COVID-19 Cases.  Sites Open on Wednesday, December 29 -- Appointments Can Be Made Here Starting on Monday, December 27th:  https://appointments.bioreference.com/nystatecovidtesting 

  • Guthrie Drive-through testing site Alvena Ave, Cortland  (parking lot across from the front entrance of the Guthrie Medical Center). Patients must schedule an appointment.  Call (607) 299-7676.

For people who don’t have a primary-care physician:
